What's standing in your way?

"What stands in the way becomes the way." Marcus Aurelius

I recently came across this quote and it really made me stop and think. How often are we, yeah, you and me, working our way towards something that we want to have or do and something gets in the way.

Something presents itself and we look at it as an inconvenience or a distraction...when it could be a clue.

It could be a clue to guide us to our next step if we actually took the time to engage with it...but we really don't give it that kind of attention.

In fact, other than being irritated by it, I don't think we give it any sort of credit at all for what it could potentially be. That's no surprise, we're in an incredibly busy time where we're having information coming at us from all angles. It really becomes difficult to discern...What's useful? What’s just noise?

There are clues but you have to slow down long enough to notice something in order to digest it.

But that's not you, is it? Nope. You're too busy so you just keep blowing them off. Find the workaround and keep going.

I'm wondering, what are you working on right now? What's got your attention?

And the next question, of course, what seems to be distracting you from it? What's the thing that's getting in your way?

Is it a clue?

Are you ready?

Let's get to it...

Your challenge...

If you want to get more clues, then really, you're going to have to slow down.

I can hear it now...I don't have time to slow down.

I might argue that you don't have time not to slow down.

Woulda, shoulda, coulda
is often the result of not taking a moment to consider something. An option that seems "out there" at a quick glance. Too unrealistic, too costly,  too...you fill in the blank.

What if you gave it a bit more of your bandwidth, just this one time. Give it some consideration.  What if?

You do have time.
